Bio:  Alana is a contract manager for the City of San José’s residential garbage and recycling program including its Household Hazardous Waste Program. As part of the HHW TC, she hopes to connect with other professionals working on HHW programs to advance waste reduction and extended producer responsibility.

David Jones

Bio: David Jones is an experienced sustainability professional with a lengthy experience managing sustainability initiatives. David’s knowledge of sustainability is extensive, spanning multiple functions including policy development, environmental audits and risk assessments, ISO 14001, instructional development and delivery, and social and environmental supply chain management. David is currently the Environmental Compliance Officer for the City of Lancaster CA and manages the City’s household hazardous waste program.

Jordan Wells

Bio:  Jordan received a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability from San Diego State University in August 2014 and joined the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC) as an intern in November 2014, worked as an Associate for three years, then became a Project Manager in October 2017. At CPSC, Jordan manages the organization’s numerous grant projects to reduce hazardous waste and promote environmentally friendly alternatives. She is also Manager of the ReFuel Your Fun and Don’t Rush to Flush Campaigns. She is grateful and excited to serve on the HHW TC.

Justin Weiss

Bio: Justin Weiss joined the California Product Stewardship (CPSC) in November 2017 as an Associate. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Arizona in 2010 and working to achieve his Master’s in Environmental Studies from California State University, San Jose. At CPSC, Justin is the lead staffer on numerous grant projects focused on HHW.

Manuel Medrano

Bio: Manuel Medrano is a Senior Recycling Specialist for the City of Chula Vista. He has worked in the sustainability field for 15 years focused on issues such as recycling, hazardous waste management, business development, and public education. Manuel belongs to several multi-agency committees and environmental health cross-border (U.S./Mexico) working groups. Manuel holds a Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in Political Science and dual minors in Chicano Studies and Public Administration.
